Affected dates: 25th July - 31st August 2026
Due to planned infrastructure works throughout August, the following routes will be affected:
- Milan – Venice / Vicenza: Several train services will be cancelled or diverted, with journey times increasing by up to 120 minutes.
- Rome – Florence and Bologna – Milan: Simultaneous infrastructure works throughout August will have a significant impact on the rail network, with journey times between Rome and Milan increasing by up to 90 minutes.
- Rome – Mantua and Perugia – Turin: Selected train services will be cancelled or operate with significant service restrictions.
- Rome – Genoa (Northern Tyrrhenian corridor): From 31st August, 2026, infrastructure works will result in timetable changes and longer journey times on affected services.
- Check before you travel: If your booked train is affected, Trenitalia will send an email to the address used when you made your booking. Please check at the station for the latest updates or speak to staff at a Trenitalia Ticket Office.
- Plan ahead: Kindly allow extra time for your journey and consider alternative routes or modes of transport.

Please remember to check the email address linked to your booking for the latest updates about your journey. If no alternative service is available and your train is cancelled, please complete the relevant online form with Trenitalia to request a refund.
- Regional, Frecce and IC Trains: Please submit this online form in order to claim a refund.
- Trenord: Please submit this form no later than 48 hours after departure.
Refundable tickets can be cancelled, subject to normal fare conditions, through the Your Bookings page.

Replacement services may operate on affected routes. Please please visit a Trenitalia Ticket Office or Customer Care Desk at the station.
How can I see if my train is affected?
If your journey is affected, please check the email address used for your booking, as Trenitalia will send any important travel updates there. We recommend checking your email regularly before you travel.
Please note that trains that continue to operate may be busier than usual due to the reduced service.
