Refundable tickets can be cancelled from the 'Your Bookings' page. For further information, please check the fare type shown on your ticket and consult your options below.
4004 - Supersaver: This ticket cannot be refunded and is valid only for the chosen date.
125 - Standard: This ticket can be refunded for free up until the day before departure. This ticket is valid for any train travelling this route on the indicated date.
2361 - Daycard: It is only possible to book this ticket with a half fare discount card. Refund rules depend on a number of factors. Please contact us directly to request this cancellation.
80040 - Saverday: This ticket is non-refundable and is only available when booking in advance. Valid at any time on the selected date up until 5:00am the following day on routes in the GA travelcard area.
- Infant = under 6 years old: Accompanied children under six years travel free of charge. The accompanying person must be at least 12 years old and hold a valid ticket. If aged 12 or over, they may accompany up to four children free of charge. From 16 years of age, up to eight accompanied children may travel for free.
- Child = 6-16 years old.
- Adult = 16+ years old.
Was your journey delayed or cancelled? If so, then you are entitled to request compensation from the train company. Please get in touch with us so that we can make a claim on your behalf.
Tickets that are valid all day do not include a specific seat reservation. However, if you know the specific train that you want to travel on, you can reserve a seat for yourself directly on the SBB website here. The process is simple and each seat reservation should cost around 5.00 CHF per passenger. Please be aware that it is not possible to reserve seats on International, Intercity (IC) and Regional trains.
Domestic journeys: The PDF ticket can be displayed on a mobile device.
International journeys: The ticket must be printed.
If in doubt, please follow the printing instructions in the booking confirmation that was emailed to you when the reservation was completed.
SBB can assist you when boarding, alighting and even changing trains. You can find out more about this service and request assistance by phoning the SBB Call Centre.
This service is available for fast trains and some regional services and is free of charge. We advise that you notify SBB of your journey at least 24 hours in advance.
SBB kindly ask that your luggage does not obstruct the aisle or inconvenience other passengers. All luggage should fit in the overhead racks or storage compartments. The amount of space and availability of storage compartments varies depending on the type of train; longer distance trains tend to have more space whilst regional/intercity trains have less.
Most dogs are allowed to travel in passenger carriages provided a half-fare ticket is purchased via the SBB website.
Smaller dogs (up to 30 cm when measured from paw to the top of the shoulder blade) can travel free of charge provided they are in a carrier, basket or other suitable container.
