• What is Omio?

Omio is a global multi-mode search engine for all major forms of transport. We compare and combine air, bus, rail and ferry journeys for routes both big and small. We work out the total travel time and cost, making it easier for you to plan and budget for your trip.

We don’t operate our own flights, buses or trains. In short, we’re an independent search platform so you can rest assured that the displayed results are always unbiased.

We’re always happy to give advice on how to use our service, but please be aware that we can't plan your journey in detail. That’s exactly what the website is for!

  • How does Omio work?

We use advanced mapping technology to find the closest airport, train or bus station to your chosen location. We then present the most efficient routes to your desired destination, saving you time and money.

Omio is also able to combine different forms of transport for you - this is called multi-mode transport.

Once you have decided on a route, you can buy the ticket on our website or via a link to the page of the travel company.

  • What is multi-mode travel?

Multi-mode travel is when you use different forms of transport to reach your final destination. We compare and combine the available options for your selected journey, helping you to plan and budget accordingly.

Say you want to travel from London to Paris—we display the travel time and total cost for trains, buses and flights. You may decide to book a flight. You can then use Omio to book a connecting bus or train to the airport. Pretty useful, right?

Omio automatically shows results for multi-mode combinations when available. Where a connection isn’t available, we display driving times along with the estimated petrol consumption.

  • Does Omio use cookies?

Yes we do. Cookies are very small files that we store on your computer—if you approve of course. They allow us to remember certain information about how you use our website, and to optimise your search results.

If you want to block cookies, you can go into the settings of your chosen web browser and easily deactivate them.

  • Do you have a mobile app?

Yes! In addition to our mobile-friendly website, a dedicated application is available for both Android and iOS devices.

  • Mobile tickets

Mobile tickets do not need printing, saving both paper and time. If you have the latest Omio app, you will find your mobile tickets in the your bookings section.

If you can't see your mobile ticket after completing your booking, then one has not been issued. Your ticket will instead have been delivered to the email address you specified during the booking process.

How do I purchase a mobile ticket?

For available routes, mobile tickets can be booked directly through the Omio app. To purchase a mobile ticket, you must be registered and logged in to your Omio user account when making the booking.

    How do mobile tickets work?

Simply access your bookings from the mobile application and open the ticket. There’s no need to worry about internet access as mobile tickets are available offline. Do make sure however that your mobile device is sufficiently charged, as you will not be able to travel without access a valid ticket.

Can I buy a mobile ticket for another person?

Mobile tickets purchased using your Omio user account cannot be transferred or sent to another person. Mobile tickets can only be accessed by using the Omio account of the purchaser.

If you intend to book tickets for another passenger or group, then you must be travelling together in order for the ticket to be valid.

Can I delete my mobile tickets?

Mobile tickets cannot be deleted, older bookings will however be automatically archived 12 hours after your scheduled arrival time. These will remain available to you for your records.
