Due to a nationwide railway strike from 9 to 11 February, rail services across the country may be disrupted. Due to minimum service requirements, some routes will operate with reduced frequency or modified schedules.
Due to regional regulations, the following services are managed by local authorities and may have different operating conditions:
- Catalonia: commuter and regional services
- Basque Country: Iberian and metric gauge commuter services
Due to service reductions, the impact may vary by train type:
- Commuter trains will run at 75% of the current service during peak hours and 50% of the current service during the rest of the day.
- Medium-distance trains, 65% of regular services.
- High-speed/long-distance trains, 73% of regular services.
- Check before you travel: Please check the Renfe website and search for your itinerary on the main page. Any cancelled or disrupted services will be indicated in the results. We recommend that you check back regularly before you travel.
- Plan ahead: Kindly allow extra time for your journey and consider alternative routes or modes of transport.

Which services are affected by the disruption?
Due to the disruption, many regional and long-distance trains will be cancelled. Please be aware if your train is still running, it might be busier than usual because of the reduced service.
