Calabria Region Strike
- On Thursday, 23 April 2026, a strike by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana staff in the circulation sector will affect train services in the Calabria region from 10:00 am to 5:59 pm.
- Trains may be partially or fully cancelled or subject to timetable changes. Disruptions may also occur before the strike begins and after it ends.
- Regional services in Calabria and surrounding areas may be cancelled or subject to timetable changes.
Taranto – Brindisi line
- From 16 March to 15 May 2026, infrastructure upgrades and routine maintenance will suspend train traffic between Taranto and Brindisi.
- Regional trains will be cancelled and replaced with buses.
- InterCity trains 564 and 566, and the Reggio Calabria – Lecce route, will be diverted via Taranto – Bari – Lecce with changes to timetable and stops.
- InterCity night trains 758, 765 and 35567 on the Lecce – Milan Centrale route will run via Fasano – Ostuni – Brindisi, with timetable and stop changes. Train 765 will also be affected on the night of 15–16 March, and the Bari Centrale – Francavilla Fontana section will be replaced by buses.
- InterCity trains 612 and 605 on the Lecce – Milan Centrale route will run via Fasano – Ostuni – Brindisi, with timetable and stop changes. The Brindisi – Bari Centrale section will be replaced by buses.
Ancona – Rome line
From 24 to 27 April 2026, and 15 to 18 May 2026, engineering works between Falconara Marittima and Castelplanio will impact InterCity trains 533, 534, 540, and 541 on the Rome Termini – Ancona route. These trains will run on a modified route, and replacement bus services will be provided for part of the journey.
- Check before you travel: Replacement bus services may operate, so please check at the station for the latest information. Bus schedules may vary depending on traffic conditions.
- Plan ahead: Kindly allow extra time for your journey and consider alternative routes or modes of transport. Alternatively, passengers travelling in the Calabria region can reschedule their journey under similar transport conditions, subject to availability.

Please first check at the station to see if a replacement bus is running for your journey. Passengers travelling in the Calabria region who choose not to travel can request a refund from the moment the strike is announced:
- up to the scheduled departure time for Intercity and Frecce trains;
- up to midnight on the day before the strike for Regional trains.
If no alternative service is available and your train is cancelled, please complete the relevant online form with Trenitalia to request a refund.
- Regional, Frecce and IC Trains: Please submit this online form in order to claim a refund.

How can I see if my train is affected?
You can search for your train on this page of the Trenitalia website by entering your train number or departure station. Any cancelled or disrupted services will be indicated in the results. We recommend that you check back regularly before you travel.
Please be aware that if your train is still running, it might be busier than usual because of the reduced service.
